They were right that if you are keen to indulge in any speciality dish, simply look no further by visiting its place of origin!
This week’s craving brings me to the heart of Little India at the very bustling & renowned Tekka Centre.
This is a place where you would definitely be spoilt for choices if you are just craving so badly for a scrumptious yet authentic plate of Nasi Briyani, which is the ultimate sensation of an Indian food paradise!
Allauddin’s Briyani Pte Ltd is the name this stall that has a prominent history of more than 40 years of perfecting this amazing dish.
The large pot of curry was also my kind of thing when you can very much expect the amount of richness that has already been cooked for several hours which has instantly open up my palate for the real deal!
The rice of the Chicken Briyani was cooked in a very light, fragrant & appetising mixture where you can totally taste the abundance of Indian spices!
Every bite of the rice was so worth cherishing upon as I feel the delicate grain of basmati rice that lingers in my mouth.
For a more robust taste, be sure to dig in into the complementary bowl of curry that also provides a good coat of moisture.
Similar to the taste of Western delight, ‘Soup of the day’, the flavours of the curry is minimally flavoured with traces of potato essence. It is not at all spicy which has very much reminded me of the familiar taste & texture of a Japanese curry.
For the meat aspect, it was served in a large drumstick portion which was very tender & soft that can be easily separated with utensils.
It contains some moisture on the inside which was infused with flavours of the curry after giving it a thorough mix.
I have enjoyed the chewy texture of the meat which is definitely one of those nicely prepared ones that I have ever tasted in a chicken dish.
On the other hand, the side ingredient of crunchy vegetable pickles also does contributes to the overall indulging experience by providing a fusional taste of sweet & sourness. Personally, it would had been even better if the sweetness of the pickles could be slightly emphasised on.
To sum things up, it is indeed a hearty meal that is worth the travelling time down for a deserving plate of Nasi Briyani!
Given the bustling environment, it was also a pleasant moment to dine in with the Indian committee while immersing in their rich culture.
On another note, please do not be surprised by the number of stalls that sells this exact same dish, as it took me some time to locate the right stall.
However, I strongly believed that there is certainly some hidden gems that are awaiting to be discovered, where more than likely or not it would very much lies with your own judgement & research to settle down for the perfect plate! Needless to say, you can definitely count on this place to satisfy your Indian food cravings!
