On a side note, it is also about me brushing up on my foodie’s knowledge regarding the gold standard that Michelin food inspectors are benchmarking upon.
This would be especially helpful when you are trying out a dish that is less familiar to you but yet pondering over the types of attributes that make up a good dish. Having surrounded with friends who are fond lovers of one such dish, the Duck Rice, I am elated to place my focus on it which eventually leads me to my discovery of Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck. This top-voted stall has been around for more than 10 years where it secures a spot on the recommended list & finally, the honourable Michelin Bib Gourmand award!
For meal hours, it can stretches across 20 mins of waiting time but now customers can be expected to wait even longer, given the Michelin’s hype.
Despite the small interior layout of the stall, there are a couple of kitchen assistants around, each with their own assigned duty that tends to your order & speeding things up.
Similar to the meat, the rice is also well-flavoured with the gooey sweetness of the braised sauce gravy, making itself really appetising.
The additional side ingredients have certainly enhanced the overall delightfulness of this dish, as well as the bowl of herbal soup that adds on a light refreshing touch & the saucer of chili that packs a savoury kick.
Being a fan who can’t get enough of similar food items all within the same plate, you can be sure that this plate of goodness certainly does satisfies me.
The best part would be that I do not need to fork out additional amount of money just to indulge in such great pleasure.
I love how everything have been nicely put together, from the meat to the bowl of soup & its saucer of chili sauce. I am personally not a huge duck lover due to the fact that its meat can often get really gamy when it is not properly handled, but it is thankfully not the case over here which favours me. If there is an option available for fragrant yam rice, I totally believe that it would be the ultimate perfection. Nonetheless, it is a good step ahead for stalls like Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck that sees & satisfies the needs of its customer base!
